CWOATA supports HCC in Careers Initiative
CWOATA was delighted recently to support Hertfordshire County Council, by helping to deliver the Careers Inspiration Custody Initiative at HMP Onley, a Category C prison. The CICI is a nationwide project, designed to help ex-offenders find sustainable employment by informing them of the options and possibilities open to them after release. A talk by Ricky Harrison, CWOATA’s CEO, on the opportunities currently available in the construction industry, was extremely well received.
‘This is a very important initiative,” said Pamela Waterman of Hertfordshire Youth Connexions, “and we’re grateful for all support we get from employers. It was very clear that CWOATA’s ability to open doors in the construction industry was of considerable interest to the many people who attended Ricky’s talk, and so it was an extremely worthwhile exercise. We’ll certainly be asking Ricky to contribute to the programme further.”
