Wrekin takes team of 5 CWOATIANs
CWOATA has supplied a team of five of its ‘graduates’ to work with Wrekin Windows on a major home improvement project in Stevenage. This team is likely to be followed by another team of 5 CWOATIANs in the near future.
The main contractor on the project is United Living Group, which was appointed by Stevenage Borough Council to deliver more than £3.5 million worth of improvement works to around 3,000 properties in the borough. The project focuses on improving the thermal efficiency of resident’s homes and will see the replacement of windows and doors, as well as major insulation improvements such as loft insulation, cavity wall and external wall insulation. Wrekin Windows, which has specialised in social housing since 1985, is one of the principal subcontractors on the project.
“We’ve known about CWOATA for a while,” said a spokesperson for Wrekin, “and it was very clear that operatives who complete the company’s PEAT course are highly motivated and keen to learn. Given the size of the Stevenage project, it’s great to have a reliable source of enthusiastic trainees who can make a significant contribution to our progress.”
The team are working under the supervision of one of CWOATA’s training supervisors, Brendon Minors, and may be the first of several to join the project in the coming months.
